EXPLORE THE AREA
Tucked away in the Yorkshire countryside near Richmond, The Reading House is surrounded by woodland, open parkland and plenty of space for little adventurers to explore. Spend your days discovering Richmond Castle, wandering through pretty Dales villages, exploring Bolton Castle or chasing waterfalls at Aysgarth Falls, with the wider Yorkshire Dales waiting just beyond the doorstep.
Aysgarth Falls
Head into the Yorkshire Dales to see the spectacular stepped waterfalls of Aysgarth. There are woodland paths, picnic opportunities and a visitor centre with a café, making it a lovely family day out. Some of the paths are suitable for pushchairs, although the waterfall area itself has steps and slippery surfaces, so little ones need watching closely
The Forbidden Corner
A wonderfully eccentric Yorkshire adventure filled with secret tunnels, hidden chambers, sculptures and surprises. Children can explore and solve their way through this four-acre labyrinth, making it a particularly fun choice for older toddlers and children
Big Sheep, Little Cow
A hands-on farm experience near Bedale where children can get close to the animals, enjoy indoor and outdoor play, and try activities including the barrel train and electric quad bikes. There are also dedicated baby and toddler sessions, making it a great option for younger children.
