Accommodation: Luxury five-bedroom country house sleeping up to 9, with three king-size bedrooms, a flexible twin room and a single bedroom. Three bedrooms have ensuites, with a further family bathroom and downstairs WC.

Location: Peaceful rural setting near St Nicholas and Strumble Head, surrounded by an acre of private lawns and 15 acres of rolling fields.What to do: Explore the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, discover quiet beaches, visit Fishguard and St Davids, and head to Strumble Head for dramatic coastal walks and seal spotting.

Best for families: Particularly good for larger families, grandparents travelling with children, or two families holidaying together, with plenty of shared space and bedrooms spread across two floors.

This architect-designed restoration combines the character of a traditional Pembrokeshire country house with beautifully considered modern interiors. There are five bedrooms, including three king-size rooms, a zip-and-link twin room and a single bedroom, giving families plenty of flexibility.

Family-friendly features: A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available. There is a ground-floor king-size bedroom with an ensuite shower room, which can be useful for grandparents or anyone who would prefer to avoid stairs. The enclosed lawned garden gives children space to play, with a small stretch of barbed wire at the edge of the garden to be aware of.

Dogs: Up to 2 dogs are welcome free of charge.

Explore the Area

  • Strumble Head: Head to the dramatic headland for coastal walks, sea views and the chance to spot seals and other wildlife. The area is particularly special in early autumn when seal pups can be seen along the coast.

  • Walk the Pembrokeshire Coast Path: This is brilliant walking country, with rugged cliffs, quiet coves and huge coastal views. The western Pembrokeshire section around Strumble Head and Pwllderi is particularly spectacular.

  • Beach days: Explore some of the quieter beaches and coves along the north Pembrokeshire coast, with Abermawr, Aberbach and Pwllgwaelod all worth adding to your list.

  • Explore Fishguard: Spend a morning exploring Fishguard and Lower Fishguard, with its harbour, independent shops, cafés and fascinating maritime history.

  • Head to St Davids: Make a day of visiting Britain's smallest city, with its cathedral, galleries, cafés and access to some of Pembrokeshire's most beautiful coastline.
